Neuromodulators are appropriate for client's with Dynamic Lines: Wrinkles that appear with muscular effort, but vanish when muscles relax.

Neuromodulators will smooth areas for clients with Static Lines: Wrinkles present at all times in the skin, even at rest; however, they will not rid the wrinkles completely

Prescriptions

At Poke Beauty, we provide neuromodulators like BOTOX® for both aesthetic and medicinal purposes. In addition to their cosmetic applications, neuromodulators are commonly used to address non-aesthetic concerns such as TMJ, Migraines, and Hyperhidrosis (excessive sweating).

If you already have a prescription for BOTOX® to manage pain or excessive sweating, you can bring your properly stored and transported Botox to your appointment. In such cases, you will only need to pay a Flat Injection Fee of $150.

If your insurance will not cover Botox for pain, we offer a discounted rate of $7/unit in areas of concern for pain

For those who require a prescription to have their product covered, we offer a free video chat with our physician for an assessment. If a prescription is needed, there will be no fee associated with it.

After the service, you can self-submit your injection fee to your private insurance plan. The receipt will contain all the necessary information for reimbursement. If your private insurance company does not cover Registered Nurse services, you may include the receipt as part of your medical expenses when filing taxes with the CRA.

Pre-Treatment Instructions

Is there a difference between Dysport® and BOTOX®?

*Avoid alcoholic beverages at least 24 hours in advance to reduce bruising and redness

*Avoid taking aspirin or anti inflammatory/blood thining drugs such as Ibuprofen, Advil®, Motrin®, Nuprin®, Aleve®, Celebrex®, Fish oil, Ginko Biloba, St. John’s Wort for 1-2 weeks prior to reduce the risk of bruising/bleeding at injection sites

Both products are FDA approved and meet industry standards. BOTOX® has become the common name surrounding neuromodulators similar to how "Kleenex" is the house hold name describing all facial tissue despite all brands on the market.  BOTOX® is an American made product and the most expensive to carry. Dysport® is made in the UK and comes with a slightly lower price tag. Studies show that it is common to see a result with Dysport® sooner than BOTOX®. Because Dysport® is a less concentrated product it is found to be better for larger areas as the product diffuses to create a smoother rather than bulkier look. Studies also show that Dysport® lasts an average of 2.5 weeks longer. Some products work better than others on individuals but you can't go wrong giving each a try. It is safe to do one product at one visit and then another 3-4 months later.

Post Treatment Instructions
