Common Injection Sites

Botox Injections

Forehead (7 to 30 units)
Horizontal wrinkle lines of the forehead are the most common place to have treated. The age at which you start this area is extremely variable between each patient.

Between the Eyebrows (9-25 units)
This area between the eyebrows is also know as your frown lines, Elevens or glabella. The severity of this area can have a strong genetic factor to it.

Crow's Feet (6-15 units each side)
The crow's feet are wrinkles on the outer side of each eye when someone smiles or squint their eyes

Eyebrow Lift (5-15 units per side)

A bit of a lift in your eyebrow shape can be achieved with a few pokes

Bunny Lines (2-10 units per side)
The bunny lines are present on each side of your nose when you wrinkle your nose upward in a "scrunching" motion. These lines are can often be found as an endearing look when left alone or smoothed out depending on your preference

Marionette Lines (3-6 Units per side)
Also known as your smile lines can be very deep and create framing around the lower half of your face. Almost like you have frown lines coming from the corner of your lips. This transition can be made to look smoother with the help of Botox

Gummy Smile (2-4 units per side)
Some smiles have a more pronounced showing of the upper gums of the mouth. Botox can help create a more balanced look when smiling

Lip Flip (4 Units)
A very subtle way to make your upper lip look fuller. This requires, 4 injection points of 1 unit each spread along the top of your lip.

TMJ Disorder (5-50 units each side)
TMJ refers to Temporomandibular Joint Disorder. The masseter muscle here often gets irritated secondary to teeth griding and clenching which can often lead to a square looking jaw, headaches, as well as tooth ware and pain. The number of units used is so variable in these muscles because a full assessment is required to determine the patient's goal of facial appearance, level of discomfort caused by clenching and overall consideration of the cause and effect of injecting into this area related to fat distribution in the face.

Migraines (Up to 200 Units)
Both anterior (pain at the front of your head) and posterior (pain at the back of your head) migraines can be very debilitating. The number of units are variable depending if your migraines are anterior or posterior and can involve injections into the masseter muscle
(TMJ), temporal region, the sides of your head, the base of your head, into your neck, on your shoulders and into the upper portion of your back. When other treatment option do not provide enough relief, Botox can be considered as a conjunctive treatment towards pain control.
